Libellula depressa.

During my recent excursion into Kent I came across this Broad-bodied Chaser (Libellula depressa) resting in an open clearing in the woodland and it was so nice to have an uninterrupted background for once.

As usual all shots were taken hand-held with the 450D and a 70-300 lens.  FAB.

  1. Cracking shots there. I used to have the odd male visit my garden a few years ago but haven't seen any recently. I assume yours was a female by the colouring.

  2. Beautiful little creature. They are so intricate. Your last photo is stunning.

  3. That's quite a chunky little dragon. Great find.

  4. Oh wow - Stunning photos, Frank! I'm never disappointed when I visit your blog!

  5. It's not often when the subject decides to 'pose' in the perfect position to help us get beautiful images like these Frank....[;o)

I hope you enjoyed your visit and I always appreciate your comments and feedback.
