Chirp, Chirp .. It's Feeding Time.

Continuing the theme from my previous post and as promised here are just a few images of the recently fledged Blue Tits that visited the garden feeder on Monday.

One individual was just happy to hang around and wait for its parents but some of the others were far more vocal.

As you can see the adult looks fairly worn out having spent a couple  of weeks fattening up its young charges and still they won't allow it any peace!

Even after the adult disappeared with four juveniles in tow, one youngster hung on for over twenty minutes and was constantly chirping in the hope of more food. Eventually it decided to fly off and find its siblings.

P.S. This brood DID NOT fledge from our nest box and it appears today that at least one adult is still visiting the box with whatever food it can find in-between the rain showers. I'll keep monitoring the nest box and let you know what, if anything, transpires.  FAB.

Linking to WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY.

  20. Hi Everyone. Thanks for all your visits and complimentary words.

Nesting Update: It now appears that OUR Blue Tits have left the nest today as I have seen at least three juveniles hiding in the Hawthorn and being fed this pm by the adults and one other helping itself on the seed feeder. Good news at long last.

    Cheers ... FAB.
