Ornate and Simple Fences.

The first of my offerings for Good Fences was taken in Verona, Italy and surrounds the very fine stone caved sarcophagi of the Scala family's tombs. The ladder symbol being the Scala family's crest.

The second, less austere, offering was also taken during our recent holiday but from one of our countryside walks between Garda and Bardolino.

A much more simple fence that is not a barrier to nature.

  1. What a lovely offering for Good Fences today Frank. The first one is quite spectacular, the second a more simpler fence but still very beautiful with it's bright red poppies. Great shots!

  7. You do like extremes don't you? These are marvelous examples of the range of what a fence can be. The first is quite ornate and an interesting history goes with it. The second is easily over shadowed by the beautiful poppies, and yet it still serves it's purpost. Lovely post, Frank.

  10. That is some fancy fencing and scrollwork in the first photo. I do love the Red Poppies against the simple barbed wire fence.
