This morning the Robin has been collecting moss from the lawn and other materials from the garden and is busily building a nest in the ivy behind the 'blue' nest box. These shots were quickly taken through the window but hopefully I'll be able to get some more 'outdoor' shots very soon. FAB.
Love the second photo of the Robin with a beak full of moss.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely home construction time! Well done!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots Frank..I have yet to get some action pictures of birds accually building one. You have inspried me to look harder.
ReplyDeleteCrista
Well done Frank, nice photo's. My garden's too small for nesting birds, all the other birds around the feeders put them off
ReplyDeleteGreat shots and extremely clean windows Frank.{:)
ReplyDeleteJohn. There were a number of sorties for moss and I took a peek later this pm and the nest cup looks fairly well complete.
ReplyDeleteSusan. All we need now is confirmation that they will take up residence.
Crista. Thanks. Hopefully you'll get a few opportunties soon.
Warren. Mine's also small and the site is close to feeders so they may not actually use it...time will tell.
Roy. Possibly but the light was also better, for once!
A nice little builder.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that too Roy, you have nice clean windows Frank! I would LOVE to have any bird building a nest in my garden. Is this a regular Robin nesting in the same place each year Frank?
ReplyDeleteHi Frank,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sign of spring!! I guess you're happy to see that!!! Congrats, the shots are sumptuous!!
Bob. Definitely and it does it without sub-contracting.
ReplyDeleteJenny. I can only presume it is the SAME Robin as the location is the same spot as last year but to my knowledge the nest was abandoned. I'm just hoping they don't get disturbed this season.
Chris. Very happy, plus a couple of 'outdoor shots to post next.
Lovely Frank. Second one is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteGood to see all this activity going on now in earnest.
That second photo is just terrific! Tis the season for home-building.
ReplyDeleteFrank these are both terrific images of your Robin, yet the second one is most splendid. What fun to watch them getting ready for the next generation~
ReplyDeleteNice shots Roy. Looks like spring is well and truly on its way

ReplyDeleteKeith & Mona. I just hope the weather stays fair for all the nest building.
ReplyDeleteMary. Yes, have to be careful not to interupt the work otherwise they may not stay!
ReplyDeleteTonyC. A certain sign that Spring has sprung at last.
What a great capture that is!-the texture of the nesting material and the color of the breast-very nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks Larry. It is a smart looking individual.
