A pair of Blue Tits are regularly transporting material into the nestbox behind the garden shed. But this morning the male decided it was time to show off his singing skills as he perched atop the hawthorn. FAB.
and it gave you wonderful opportunities for nice pictures. These are great shots Frank. The last one is splendid and is my favorite... Looks like you were not sneaking in the grass to take them ;-)
Bob B. Thanks. When he was singing, he didn't mind me creeping closer for once.
Chris. Cheers my friend. There was no need for camouflage tactics today!
Lois Evensen. Thank you very much.
Chris P. Me too. Fortunately they are around the garden most of the year. Definitely the 'singing' season and looking forward to more arrivals locally.
I have noticed how bright the blue is on the local Blue Tits now. Pleased to hear your nest box is being used. Mine seems to be out of favour again this year.
Hi John. In full breeding plumage now John. It's the only box in use at the moment out of 4 options in the garden and they have beaten the Greats ti it this year. I thought you had some initial exploration so there is still time..keep your fingers crossed.
The photographs are brilliant.

I am really taken by the blue tit - beautiful and charming little bird - also the full-on singing blackcap, a sure sign of the season.

I love the last photo of him singing. So sweet. I wish we had these birds here too. He runs a close second to my fav, the robin!
