Chiffchaff.

The numbers of returning Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita) heard during my patch walks has increased dramatically over the past two weeks but typically singing from lofty perches too high overhead for a decent photo. However during a visit to Bookham Common this individual was far more accommodating.

It slowly edged upwards along the branch before uttering its distinctive song.
