Play Fighting.

Just a couple of younger Fallow Bucks having a bit of harmless fun, testing out their skills, while another looks on.

This encounter only lasted a few moments ... all good practice for the future.  FAB.

Linking to Saturday's Critters.

  11. Oh you captured these perfect moments so beautifully Frank! Amazing photos and thought-provoking as well. Too many people don't realize the importance of play. ... Imagine if the deer just plunked those young ones down in front of the TV and told them to be quiet.

  13. What magnificent animals and you have captured the moment beautifully.

I've just read a couple of your previous posts - the one about your grandfather was most interesting. We saw the ceramic poppies on tv - what a sight and a very fitting memorial.
I hope they are permanent as we are visiting the UK next May/June, although we have been to the Tower before I would like to photograph this too!

  15. Fantastic! We have plenty of deer around here but I've never witnessed anything like that.It makes me want to sit out in a deer stand early in the morning to see if I can catch a glimpse of this play fighting action.Super job with the photos!

  17. Great pictures. We have four (or more) Fallow Deer here in East Lothian. They were given to a landowner who released them in some woodland he owns. He didn't seem to realise that they would just go where they wanted. They seem to have taken up residence on a neighbouring farm near the coast!
