After a long, long wait the expected notification came earlier this evening when a phone call confirmed that PJB, one of my three younger brothers, had passed away peacefully and hopefully painlessly in hospital.
Over the past 4 months, his son, my parents and brothers have all waited more in hope, than expectation, that there might be some slim chance that PJB would regain some measure of cognitive response but in my heart I knew this was very unlikely.
Although resigned to the probable outcome the finality of this event may take some time for us all to accept.
What I am sure of is that this is a blessed relief for PJB as much as it is for those close to him.
Sweet dreams my dear brother ..... Remembered in fondness and never to be forgotten. FAB

ReplyDeleteI’m very sorry for your loss. I’ve lost friends and relatives and know how much it hurts. I realize that the only way I could have avoided the sadness was to never have experienced the joy of knowing those people. When I think of those people now, it’s the happy times that I recall and the memories always brighten my day.

Frank, I am so very sorry, and yet as your beloved brother passed over, now so shall his body find rest, and those left behind can seek comfort from one another in the fondness of the life you all once shared. I had lifted him as well as you all up several times in past months, and I had wondered about the situation. No one ever truly passes, so long as there are those left to remember. You did your best Frank, you all did. Blessings to you and yours~
ReplyDeleteFrank, I'm so sorry. Even though it was a blessing, it does not make it any easier in your heart. Deepest condolences...
