Another misty and foggy morning which didn't make focusing on the resident Grey Heron very easy but it was interesting to watch some its antics!
Maintaining balance OR practising the 'catch'?
Wherever you are, have a great wildlife watching weekend .... FAB.
...he must be doing yoga, Frank! Love seeing him through the fog. Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly. I'm amazed how they stay so still on one leg!
DeleteFAB, these are excellent shots of the GBH!! Only wish I could get that close to one of them. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mona. These opportunities don't crop up that often so the fog helped me to creep up on him.
DeleteBeen foggy here too Frank. Plays havoc with the auto focus lol
ReplyDeleteGreat catches despite the weather.
Cheers Keith. Always something to challenge the basic amateur!!
Deletethese are great! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Theresa.
DeleteFrank, I really like the effect of the fog. Beautiful! Love the comical heron dance. Great series!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie G. Yes, it offered quite a few interesting postures ... probably though nobody was watching!
DeleteLovely photos of one of my favourite birds! I particularly like the middle one.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed your colourful flowers on the earlier post, so cheerful :-) and the beautifully composed Little Egret too.
I hope your Dad is still progressing well Frank and that your Mum is coping, a difficult time for all I know but so nice that your Dad is so motivated and determined.
Thanks Jan. Some days (not as often as I would like) the subjects just happen to pose nicely for the camera. Dad is doing ok but still has his up and down days.
DeleteLovely misty shots Frank.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roy. Not the conditions I would want every day!
DeleteI like the mood and the bird yoga.
ReplyDeleteCheers Steve.
DeleteYou did get a good look at this guy. Since they are such an ungainly shape there movements are exaggerated.
ReplyDeleteYes Red ... he was very engrossed in his excercises to worry about me sneaking up to watch the performance.
Deleteenjoyed your lovely grey heron in the fog photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole.
DeleteHi Frank,
ReplyDeleteLovely, atmospheric photos. Like the one where he is perching on one leg with the other sticking out, looks like something out of Karate Kid!

DeleteLooks great, Nicely done, Mike.
ReplyDeleteAppreciate the compliment Mike.
DeleteHerons have so much character - inscrutible comes to mind. You've caught him perfectly and I love the misty backgrounds.
ReplyDeleteCheers Ann. You never know what position they will adopt next .. lol.
DeleteGreat shots Frank, the lighting is superb :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Alan .. certainly tested the focusing!!
DeleteI just love herons, even through the fog!! You captured some great images here, Frank. ~karen
