I had a quiet wander around our small rear garden early this morning to discover what colour was lurking amongst all the green vegetation while listening to the sounds of House Sparrows, Blackbird, Robin, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Blue Tit and squabbling Starlings.
The fat buds on the clump of Iris 'Jane Philips' have now just started to open.
Elsewhere there was a small Geranium, Sempervivums, Allium, the first bloom on Rose (Mme. Alfred Carriere) and the Clematis montana which has been flowering for some weeks. Both the rose and clematis clamber upwards and over the fence so our neighbours also get a good show (for free of course).
And lastly a single head of nodding bells on Nectaroscordum siculum.
Wishing everyone a wonderful wildlife watching weekend wherever you are. FAB.
