Linnaeus originally categorised both Blue, Great plus other Tits & Chickadees as Parus (family Paridae). From memory Eurasian Blue Tit together with African & Azure Tits were re-categorised as a seperate sub-species in 2001 as Cyanistes. Andy I'm sorry for any confusion.
